The 26th Belvoir Half Marathon and 4 1/2 miles Fun Run was held on Sunday 30th March 2008. We were very lucky to get a settled day for the event after several very wet, windy days. 572 runners completed the course, as well as 36 Fun-Runners. A large number of runners achieved Personal Best times.
- Chris Southam (Stilton Striders) was the Winner in the excellent time of 1:13:38 as well as the First Vet Man
- Abby Norman (Burton Athletic Club) was the First Woman and the First Senior Woman home in a time of 1:21:18
- Chris Nicoll (Derby Triathlon Club) was the First Senior Man in 1:14:20
- The first Wheelchair home was Peter Carruthers in 1:18:27
- Peter Mensley (Charnwood Athletic Club) was the First Vet Man in the 50-59 category with a time of 1:23:32
- The First Woman in the 50-59 category was Aly Wren (Hinckley AC)
- The First Man in the over 60 category was Anthony Norman (Nuneaton Harriers)
- The First Woman in the over 60 category was Val Naylor of (Sutton-in-Ashfield Harriers)
- The winning mans team was Redhill Road Runners Club consisting of Leigh Stubbs, Simon Nash, Mark Davis and Paul Stacey
- The winning womans team was Holme Pierrepont Running Club, with Serena Bignell, Jacqueline Wilson and Susan Hales.
The event was organised by Hose Village Hall Management Committee, in order to raise funds to improve the village hall facilities. We hope that it is a friendly event, which first-time runners as well as our many regular visitors will attend.
